Disney On Ice brings your favourite Disney characters and stories to life through the beauty of ice skating.

In preparation for the upcoming event in March, we were required to shoot a long-form insider video to be posted on our social media platforms. We had the opportunity to meet the Disney On Ice stars and film a masterclass that some of our cast members took part in. Each team member was assigned a specific role, such as sound, wide shots, mid shots, close-ups, or Instagram stories.

We had several cameras, tripods, microphones, sound stabilizers, and more. When we arrived at the rink, I initially stood by the sides with a camera on a tripod, using a normal lens of 24-70mm, capturing shots of them warming up and putting on their boots. However, the team decided that we also needed close-up shots. I was confident enough to skate on the ice with a camera so I had the honorary task of doing so.

I managed to capture important moments, close-ups of facial expressions, falls, reactions and different angles of the entire masterclass. I shot the footage with a handheld camera with a 24-70mm lens, and being on the ice allowed me to move around to different sides during the ice skaters’ interview.
