Captain Marvel's EZ-Link Card

With the upcoming movie release of Captain Marvel and EZ-link as a DCP licensee, Captain Marvel-themed EZ-link cards was going to be available for purchase.

My task was to create a 20-second motion graphics video in a 1x1 format specifically for Instagram to promote the cards and the movie in the outro. The storyboard and art pack were provided to me to begin working on the video.

The main idea was to showcase the cards 'arriving' and landing on Earth, creating impactful cracks on the ground. The cards would then fan out to reveal the two designs along with the CTA.

For the cracks, I used a purchased stock image, lightened it, and masked it. I then added a camera wiggle effect for the impact. After that, I created a fiery comet effect for when the card is falling to Earth. To create the comet effect, I had to use a combination of turbulent displacements, solid composites, fractal noise, and face effects. I added a glow and masked it according to my desired effect.

I then added transitions, CTA, and the end slate from the movie trailer to complete the video.

For the ending slate of the trailer, I had to superimpose the correct release date for Singapore and track it accordingly.
